Implementing the Satoyama Initiative for the benefit of biodiversity and human well-being
The Food and Fertilizer Technology Center for the Asian and Pacific Region (FFTC), in collaboration with the Hualien District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (HDARES), Forestry Bureau (FOREST), Taiwan Forestry Research Institute (TFRI) and International Partnership of Satoyama Initiative (IPSI), is organizing Implementing the Satoyama Initiative for the benefit of biodiversity and human well-being international Symposium, which will be held at HDARES from September 17 to 18. We invited two important Keynote Speakers: Dr. Evonne Yiu, Researcher of IPSI secretariat and Dr. Kuang-Chung Lee, Associate Professor of National Dong Hwa University, both of whom work in the promotion of the Satoyama Initiative for many years. Another important part of the symposium is the Policy Forum Session, which will be moderated by FFTC Director Dr. Kuo-Ching Lin. This session will discuss the important policies related to the Satoyama Initiative. We also invited speakers from the Asian and Pacific region to share their experiences in the implementation of the Satoyama Initiative in their respective countries to improve the rural economy and environmental protection.
