 June 19 2019

On June 17th, FFTC Director Dr. Kuo-Ching Lin, Deputy Director Dr. Akria Hasebe, and Assistant Researcher Ms. Jennifer Lii visited Dean Prof. Huu-Sheng Lur and Vice President Prof. Dar-Yuan Lee,College of Biological Resources and Agriculture of National Taiwan University. Prof. Lur provided a few possible directions for FFTC Strategic Plan from 2021 to 2024.

Prof. Lur suggested that Crop Modeling, Horticultural Therapy, and Forest Garden therapy can be extended topics of the ICTs' smart agriculture and rural resource management in the five themes of FFTC Strategic Plan from 2019 to 2020. The establishment of the crop modeling system will help to simulate the various situations of cultivation management and provide data that can be referenced by the growers, field managers, and consultants in the future. Based on this modeling, management decisions can be more accurately judged. Horticultural healing and forestry healing are using instruments that can measure the heart rate of the human body, by analyzing the data provided by the instruments, it is possible to prove that the good natural environments can improve human physiological and psychological health and mitigate chronic diseases or psychological symptoms. These technologies have some results which already achieved in Taiwan and can be further exchanged with the other countries in the future.
