 September 19 2018

How do we engage young people to go into farming? How grave is the problem of aging farmers in Asia? What programs or incentives do governments give to our young farmers? Who are the young farmers who made it big in agribusiness? These questions and more will be answered and discussed in detail as experts from Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam gather on October 2-4 at the International Workshop on “Fostering Increased Engagement and Capacitating the Youth on Agri-Entrepreneurship,” to be held at the MARDI headquarters in Selangor, Malaysia.

Aside from experts, around 25 local participants, most of whom are youth leaders will attend the said workshop and participate in the discussions on issues pertaining to youth and agri-entrepreneurship in Asia. The workshop will basically be a sharing of knowledge and experiences on strategies, programs, initiatives and innovations on enticing the youth to think like businessmen and have a deeper appreciation of agriculture.
