We are pleased to present to you the major highlights and accomplishments of the Food and Fertilizer Technology Center for the Asian Pacific Region (FFTC) for 2018 through this Annual Report. There are 10 projects, four of which are workshops, three are seminars, one collection of information, one major meeting and one collaborative research network.

This year (which happens to be my second year as Director of the Center), we held our 24th Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) Meeting in which our TAC members presented their major findings and recommendations to the FFTC management. We thought of including the highlights of the Strategic Action Plan for 2019-2020 which we have drafted for the said meeting and have been approved by the TAC, Working Group and Executive Board members. 

This was also the year when we beefed up our Agricultural Policy Platform and added more significant agricultural policy papers in our AP website. Likewise, we also strengthened our project on Enhancing Collaborative Research Network on the Control of Dragon Fruit Diseases and Pests in Southeast and South Asia.

In between these projects, we also attended and participated in various activities related to agricultural development in the region to strengthen our ties and become more visible in the agricultural regional community.

All of these would not have been possible if not for the cooperation and support of all our partners, stakeholders and friends who believed in the mission and vision of our Center. To all of you, thank you very much.

We are very hopeful that just like 2018, the new year will usher in more positive vibe as we look forward to more challenges in the future.
